Panormos Beach Resort Relaunched for 2016
With weather as perfect as we have in Mykonos, it’s hardly surprising that we like to spend our days on the beach is it? 2016 has brought some exciting changes to the beach bar scene in Mykonos, and one of them is very close to home indeed! Located on the gorgeous Panormos beach just below our sea view luxury villas, Panormos Beach Resort has been redesigned and revamped for 2016, and the changes promise to make it one of the top beach bar locations on the island this year! George Papageorgiou – a well known name from both the Nammos and Scorpios beach bars – is now in charge, and Panormos Beach Resort has a new menu created by the Chef Avgeria Stapaki. The exterior has been comprehensively redesigned by the architect Thanassis Kyratsous to provide a unique blend of laid back luxury. With the delicious new menu, perfect beach, and boutique shop, Panormos Beach Resort has all you need for a chilled out day at the beach – and it’s right on our doorstep!
New Rakkan Restaurant at Kalo Livadi Beach
One of the most exciting brand new arrivals to Mykonos in 2016 is Rakkan Mykonos beach bar & restaurant on Kalo Livadi beach on the south coast of Mykonos. It’s the sister of the premium Japanese fusion restaurant ‘Rakkan’ in Athens, and promises to bring delicious Oriental and Asian cuisine and experiences together with the best Greek and international DJ stars to Kalo Livadi through a collaboration with the well-established London hospitality brand Chinawhite.
Monarch Restaurant & Beach Club at Platis Gialos Beach
For 2016 the Monarch Restaurant & Beach Club is moving from Kalo Livadi to a new home in Platis Gialos beach, promising more of what it offered when it first arrived in Mykonos last year – top quality food by a Michelin star awarded chef, extraordinary and exquisitely mixed cocktails, and exclusive events with DJs and musicians, including several performances by the Greek band Melisses last year. Top Beach Bars in Mykonos in 2016
Of course, we can’t fail to mention the big hitters when it comes to Mykonos beach bars either – and they both promise to provide an amazing experience again for 2016. Nammos Beach Bar & Restaurant on Psarou beach is always popular with celebrities, and is regarded as one of the hottest beach destinations in the whole of Greece, and a great place to be seen! The DJ Vassili Tsilichristos will be bringing his Made in Mykonos Tour 2016 to Nammos on July 23rd for what promises to be one of the top parties of the summer. Scorpios beach bar & restaurant shook things up when it launched on Paranga beach just last year, and you can expect more of the same from one of Mykonos’ hottest beach spots in 2016, with an enviable lineup for the summer 2016 calendar showcasing both established musicians and artists and up-and-coming names. So if you didn’t get the opportunity to experience it last year, make sure you do this summer!
Top Clubs in Mykonos in 2016
Cavo Paradiso club on Paradise beach have released their 2016 guest DJ lineup featuring top international DJs like Skrillex, Steve Aoki, and David Guetta. There are some new clubs in Mykonos this year too, notably Mykonos Bar (focusing on Greek music) in the former Project Mykonos building in Little Venice, and the Dome Club in Mykonos town. On the 17-24th August Mykonos welcomes one of the world’s hottest gay circuit festivals back for another year, with the 8th XLSIOR festival promising a crazy week of partying!
New Boutique Shop in Mykonos Town
With its rich history as a bohemian holiday destination for the stars, Mykonos has a stellar reputation as a fabulous shopping destination for those with a keen eye for style, and 2016 will see a new boutique shop opening that is sure to become an important destination on any retail therapy pilgrimage around the Chora. The brand new Tserkov boutique store in Mykonos spans two floors, and offers a wide selection of items from luxury brands such as Marni, Alexander Wang, Elie Saab and Christopher Kane.
New Bars & Restaurants in Mykonos in 2016
There are lots of other new and exciting changes to the bars and restaurants in Mykonos in 2016, and far too many for us to mention them all here! A few highlights include a K for KIKU – a new addition and twist to the Kiku Japanese fusion restaurant that already has locations in both Mykonos and Athens. Charlie is a new bar opening in the beautiful Little Venice area of the Chora, while 180° Sunset Bar promises amazing views of Mykonos Town, and of course, stunning Greek island sunsets! Nesaea restaurant in Agia Anna beach will be offering delicious dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, and is run by the same behind ‘nice n easy Mykonos’ in Mykonos town. That’s just a small selection of the new arrivals for this year, and of course the best way to discover what’s new for 2016 is to explore them yourself!
